Math for English Language Learners Resource

Link: http://www.tsusmell.org/index.htm

This blog has a lot of lesson plans and presentations that seem very helpful with teaching ELL students. I thought that it was very interesting to look at the graphs that really put into perspective how far behind ELL students are in compared to the rest of the student population. It contains a lot of different lesson plans that are specifically designed for students who are ELL. This website is very data and researched based and was also better formatted to me personally. This site seems mainly used as a teacher resource for the classroom. I prefer this website rather than a blog type resource just because I am not very well versed in blogs and it can be more difficult to navigate to me. It has a lot of helpful information which for me is very important. I would rather use this type of informational website to enrich my lessons to really help English Language Learners. I would definitely use this resource to sharpen my lessons to cater the needs of English Language Learners. Although, I would have liked to seen videos or recording of modeling the lessons and how they were successful so that I could know what the optimal things that I should incorporate into my lessons.

Best,
Ms. Rodriguez

  1. I enjoyed your insights about the usefulness of the ELL site. Recognizing that we have problems in that area AND that we know how to solve them is so important.
